I am working on a PSA Project with 2nd grade students. Here are some of the resources that I will be using with the classes.
Resources PSA Lesson Plan
This lesson is part of the Apple Learning Interchange. (They also include two links for PSA examples.)
Innovative Video in Education
This is a student video contest sponsored by the San Diego County Office of Education. You will find detailed information regarding the definition of the category, specific qualities of a PSA, examples of PSAs, and resources to learn more about this genre of video.
PSA Examples
These are some examples I found on TeacherTube. A couple of these videos are longer than a typical PSA and I plan to use just a portion of them, highlighting specific details. (I have noted that below.)
LPGA
Promotes activity by kids. (I will share this entire video with students.) Art
Promotes art in the curriculum. (I won't show this entire movie, but I will highlight how they use quotations.) Bully
Promotes how students can stop bullying. (I won't show this entire movie, but I will highlight how they used shots in different scenes around the school.)
"The More You Know"
Here are a number of the PSAs that consistently run on NBC.
